Community Guidelines
This English text is a translation for your convenience. Only the German version is binding. Deutsche Fassung (verbindlich)
These Community Guidelines are part of the terms of service of Meets (meets.social). They apply to all content and all conduct on Meets: posts, comments, images, videos, course content, events, profiles, communities and chats. They apply whether you act as a person, as an organization or in the name of a community.
1. What this is about
Meets is a place for communities that come together online and in person. That needs trust. Treat others the way you want to be treated, follow the law and respect the rights of others.
2. Prohibited content
In particular, the following is not allowed:
- Illegal content, for example incitement to hatred, the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations, calls to commit crimes, threats, insults, defamation and slander.
- Depictions of child sexual abuse and any sexualization of minors. We remove such content at once and report it to law enforcement.
- Terrorist content and the glorification of violence.
- Hate and discrimination based on origin, skin color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or other protected characteristics.
- Harassment and bullying, including repeated unwanted contact.
- Publishing private information of others without their consent, for example addresses, phone numbers or locations (doxxing).
- Pornographic and sexually explicit content. Meets is not a platform for adult content.
- Nudity. This explicitly includes sauna events: no photos or videos are taken in saunas, changing rooms and showers.
- Dangerous health claims, for example claiming that breathwork, sauna sessions or fasting cure diseases, or urging people to stop medical treatment.
- Calls for dangerous behavior, for example breathing exercises in water or while driving, or challenges that can cause injuries.
- Trade in prohibited or dangerous goods, for example drugs, weapons or prescription medicines.
- Fraud, spam and deception, for example chain letters, fake giveaways, phishing, bought reach or pretending to be someone else.
- Infringing copyright, trademarks and personality rights, for example other people's photos, videos, music or logos without permission (see section 3).
- Unlabeled advertising. Paid partnerships and advertising must be recognizable as such.
3. Uploads, images and audio
- Upload only what you own or are allowed to use. With every upload you warrant that you hold all necessary rights. The details are in the rules on uploads and copyright.
- Original audio only. Videos may contain only original audio: your voice, ambient sound and music you made yourself or for which you have written permission from the rights holders. Meets currently offers no music library and no feature to add music.
- Background music at events (for example a playlist during a sauna ritual or at a supper club) is not original audio in this sense. Remove the audio or mute the video.
- People in the picture. Publish photos and videos in which other people are recognizable only with their consent or where the law allows it without consent. For sauna, breathwork and other sensitive situations you always need explicit consent.
- Children. Show children only with the consent of their parents or guardians and never in intimate situations.
- Reported audio can be muted. If the audio of a video infringes the rights of others, we can remove the audio instead of deleting the whole video.
4. Events in person
- Whoever offers an event is its organizer and is responsible for safety, permits and qualified instruction.
- Describe events honestly: place, time, requirements, costs and risks.
- Point out health risks, especially for sauna, breathwork and sports.
- If photos or videos are taken, announce it beforehand and respect those who do not want to be recorded.
- Participants look after their own health and stop an exercise if they do not feel well.
5. Communities and moderation
- Communities can have their own rules. They may be stricter than these guidelines but must not contradict them. They are shown on the About page of the community.
- Owners, Admins and Moderators of a community moderate it under these guidelines and its own rules. Every measure must come with reasons.
- Meets reviews reports of illegal content itself and can act independently of the moderation of a community.
- Measures always apply to the acting account, also when it posted in the name of an organization or of the community.
6. Accounts and age
- You must be at least 16 years old to use Meets. For purchases and for payouts as a host you will have to be at least 18 years old, once they exist.
- Do not pretend to be another person or organization.
- An account belongs to exactly one person. Do not share your login details.
- Do not evade bans, for example with new accounts or by posting in the name of an organization.
7. Reporting
You can report content, profiles, communities and events with the "Report" function. Without an account, report through the point of contact for users in the imprint. How we handle reports is described in the notice and action procedure.
8. Measures against violations
Depending on severity and repetition, we or the moderation of a community can:
- give a notice or a warning,
- remove, block, mute or restrict the visibility of content,
- restrict features, for example uploads or messages,
- exclude an account from a community (Community Ban),
- ban an account from all of Meets temporarily or permanently (Platform Ban),
- inform authorities when the life or safety of people is threatened.
We inform the affected person about every measure with a statement of reasons and how to complain. For serious violations, for example depictions of child sexual abuse or terrorist content, we ban at once and without prior warning.
9. Complaints
If you disagree with a decision, you can complain within six months. Every statement of reasons tells you how. A person reviews your complaint.
10. Changes
We can update these guidelines, for example because of new features or laws. We inform you about material changes in good time beforehand.
